I am sure this has been asked and answered many times but vent find any of those so here goes. I am an avid flight simmer looking to do fresh install of fsx want to make move to prepare3d but have a couple questions.  Do I really need the pro version and if I would get other will that not run pmdg when it comes out?

Thanks

Scott

I just made the jump from FSX to P3D this morning, and so far no regrets!   I don't think you need the pro version unless you require that level of licensing, otherwise most around here (from what I gather) got the Academic version for $60.00.    Good luck!!

No one yet knows what kind of license will be required for the future P3D versions of the PMDG planes. (Just as no one yet knows anything about the prices...!) If you want to be absolutely sure you will be able to use those PMDG planes, you might want to get the Pro license because they might (!) want to limit the use of their planes somehow in P3D. But this is all guessing.

About needing the pro license (forgetting about PMDG here): it's not about what you need but what you qualify for and this you will have to decide on your own. (And btw in that regard it's totally useless to look at what most people got...)
