Has anyone seen this issue before (seems to have cropped up since installing Fixer 2.0 Build 42 and ASN Hotfix 3), on rare occasion FSX will crash on start up with this error in the event log:

Usually, I can start FSX again and fly for hours on end and all all is well.

Update:

Rebuilding the FSX.cfg seems to have fixed the problem.

If it come back again, I will re-install the Fixer, as I noticed it gives an option to repair (leave in place) the Microsoft redistributable code during installation!

P.S. I checked my Windows update and got almost a dozen updates (some security updates)... Fingers crossed.. :-)
