Saitek Support

Featured Replies

Does the PMDG 737NGX support Saitek equipment? I have the Pro Flight Yoke & Quadrant, Pro Flight Multi Panel and the Pro Flight Radio Panel. Do they work with it? Are 3rd party programs required?

hi, I use Saitek all the time and mine works with the PMDG 738/900 NGX.

just make sure you have the latest drivers installed and (i'm not sure about the Fsuipc addon) it should work ok for you.

Yoke, throttles, and other buttoned panels will work fine even without FSUIPC. However, the Saitek driver does not recognise the presence of the NGX, so if you want to bind a button to some function no default aircraft has, you'll need SPAD instead of the Saitek driver. (don't forget the "instead of", or both will be sending commands to FSX) SPAD is specifically for the Saitek hardware and will simulate a "virtual game controller", which you can then bind using FSUIPC. The latter will even let you record macros (kind of "this is what I want to happen" mouse and keyboard recording) and bind those to controller buttons.

The displays other than the Flight Instrument Panel I don't have experience with, but I remember reading about SPAD supporting them, so that could work as well.

The FIP is a different beast altogether, as the Saitek software basically re-implements XML gauges with them, and haven't added state variables for the NGX specific stuff. That said, several gauges will work, including quite a lot of the PFD and EICAS content in two gauges I downloaded from the Internet.

Cheers,

Bert

PS

Personal opinion is that you should turn the question around: How well is Saitek supporting the NGX...
