March 21, 201412 yr So I bought a nice motherboard bundle which consists of i5 4670K overclocked to 4.2Ghz, ReFlex Asus Z87, 8GB of RAM at 1600mhz and Alphenfohn Brocken CPU cooler. I'm upgrading from a FX-6200 @3.6 GHz and Gigabyte 970A with 4GB of RAM on stock cooler. Would this improve the framerates noticeably for FSX, PMDG 777/NGX, all FSDreamteam sceneries, UK2000, ORBX landclass scenery, REX and ASN? I know it's a lot of add-ons but I always disable the sceneries that I don't require if I'm flying into that airport or flying over that area. I would also be configuring the hell out of my fsx.cfg file without a doubt. What are your opinions about it? Jamie Brady
March 22, 201412 yr Yes it will, you`ll be fine with that Haswell. I just went from a Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz, 8800GT to a 4670k @ 4.5Ghz 1.255v & GTX 760. Intel's single threaded performance blows AMD away in FSX. I have lots of scenery stuff that I could barely use previously due to frame rates. VAS is the only issue now. Use Word Not Allowed's guide for tweaking cfg. Cheers What is the vcore for 4.2Ghz James McAleese
