March 24, 201412 yr On my old computer (before I upgraded), I would hear an audible sound (beep beep) when I turned the autopilot off. I don't get that on my new FSX installation. I've looked everywhere for that control toggle. Do you know where that is controlled? Additionally, I'd like to turn up the volume on the plane's engine sounds when in SPOT view. Again, on my old setup, it seemed that was louder. Can't find the control for that. I've looked under SOUNDS in the FSX menu. Stan

I've looked everywhere for that control toggle. Do you know where that is controlled? In your search, I presume that you have located the .wav file and an appropriate entry in the Sound cfg file in your aircraft's folder. In mine, the .wav file is called AP_DISC, but that may be different for the aircraft you're referring to. Additionally, I'd like to turn up the volume on the plane's engine sounds when in SPOT view. Again, on my old setup, it seemed that was louder. Can't find the control for that. I've looked under SOUNDS in the FSX menu. AFAIK engine sound volume can be altered in the Sound cfg file in your aircraft's folder. The entries next to rpararams and vparams are altered (remember to save that file before altering values). Usually, 'x' before the name of the sound refers to external sound. However, most of us won't go there, since changing those values would only be guesswork and very time consuming. Someone else who has more knowledge of changing these values could be of more help.
