March 30, 201412 yr I upgraded to an ASUS 290X video card from a HD6990. The CPU is a 4770K and a 5 monitor display. The improvement to FSX was just OK as I had the sliders mostly full right already and with the 290X I can push it the rest of the way. The big improvement was in P3Dv2.1. I can now use the lighting effects and the display is still smooth. Prior to the 290X, P3D was annoying to my senses but now I am enjoying P3D. With the 290X and P3D's lack of popping autogen I will spend a lot more time in P3D. Conclusion: Not worth the expense for FSX but worth it for P3D.
