Im a total noob- FaceTrackNoIR problem

Featured Replies

So, I'm new to FSX.... and I'm not the most savvy on the ole CPU.  Still, I figured I could make FaceTrackNoIR work.  Wrong!  So I installed 1.7, it recognizes my face and all seems to work just fine.  I start up FSX, and have absolutely no idea how to translate the tracking face to looking around the cockpit.  I also have a 3 monitor set up, so if its going to take something special to use it via all 3 monitors, please tell me now or I'll have to make another post apologizing for my stupidity and asking for help again.

Thanks in advance!

so I was able to get it working... evidently I had to select "flight sim" in a drop down.  However, I still don't know how to get it to work on my 3 monitors.  Perhaps my problem is I don't know how to properly set up 3 monitors.  Right now I have one monitor open... I then open a new view, undock it, and move it to the side monitor, then rinse and repeat for the other side.  I then set the look feature off to the sides, overlooking the wings.  All three of my monitors are from different manufacturers and are different sizes, just fyi.  Again, thanks for any help.

Can't help with the multiple monitor problem but the best way to dramatically improve FaceTrackNoIR performance is to make/buy an IR point source and use the PointTracker module. Once set up, it's easily as smooth and precise as TrackIR at a tiny fraction of the cost and doesn't suffer from the "stray reflection" problem that can affect TrackIR when using it in a sunny environment.
