Some help with headtracking

Featured Replies

Hi guys! I hope I poset this to the right forum and you can help me out here, I have been struggling to get this to work properly for a long time now and other people make it look easy so I don't understand what could be wrong.

Here is the situation.

I want to use FaceTrackNoIR with the PointTracker plugin for headtracking. I have tried it before, didn't work now I'm at it again. Here is my new 3 point model.

The frame is now made of thin iron bars so they keep their position where I want it. The LEDs are infrared they run on one AAA battery at the moment, if I can get it to work I'll add power from USB.

My webcam is a Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD, IR filter removed, it can do 30fps. I will get a PS3 eye if I can but not sure I can get hold of an old one since new ones I hear can't be rid of the IR filter easily.

The problem: I can't look up. Looking left, right and down works fine. When I want to look up it just looks down again. It goes like this, when my head is in the neutral position I look forward. I lower my head and my view goes down, so far so good, I start raising my head, my view goes up UNTIL the neutral position and if I keep raising my head it starts to lower my view again.

Can anyone help me out with this? I can't really afford a trackIR these days and this almost works. Thank you in advance.
