April 22, 201412 yr I was going thru the documentation on the weather radar and was wondering if it can operate on a client PC (network setup where my ASN executes from) ... docs seem to indicate it tied to an aircraft. Cheers, Rob.
April 26, 201412 yr It's built into ASN's map. You can access it in ASN. It's not an aircraft radar per se, more like a NEXRAD radar. So, essentially, yes, you can use it on a network. Devin CYOW
April 26, 201412 yr It's not an aircraft radar per se, more like a NEXRAD radar. If you are talking about the Map tab, then I was hoping for something with a little better resolution and operated more like an the Aircraft Radar gauge. In other words, make the aircraft gauge run from a networked PC (via SimConnect). Cheers, Rob.
April 26, 201412 yr It will work that way, and over a network, yes. I had experimentally installed the ASN gauge into the VC of the Milviz 310, plus an accompanying Window entry for 2D popup use. It worked, but there was a catch. What you had displayed on the 2D window did not simultaneously show up in the VC and vice versa, so there was a little synchronization problem between the two. On my machine, I also experienced a small performance hit. Although I ultimately decided not to continue using this configuration, the answer to your basic question is yes, there was no problem with it showing correct information over a network.

So how do you got about getting the Radar gauge to run on the "server" (aka NOT the FS PC) PC? Cheers, Rob.
April 26, 201412 yr Oh, I misunderstood. I presume the gauge can only operate within the simulator, not standalone.
