When flying longer flights IFR, sometimes I move forward to destination but it seems to cancel out the traffic control that was guiding me prior to the move, then requires hand flying to destination........anyone know the way to get the flight plan back to IFR traffic control??

Hi Dick,What do you mean by "move forward?" Do you use slew mode? If so, then be aware that slewing does not negate the ATC requirments. So I suspect that ATC issues some command that you don't respond to and then they cancel your clearance.You can prevent this by waiting until ATC hands you off to a new controller, acknowledging the handoff, but then not contacting the new facility. Next, slew forward, then press 1 to change frequency and press 1 again to contact ATC. Your clearance will be intact.R-
