View Point ??

HiIs there a technical reason why in the VC of every Fs2004 aircraft, the default view has your nose pressed up against the Glareshield.im pretty sure most pilots dont fly around with there head resting on the windshield..this is also the case in every Addon aircraft i own..ie PMDG ,GA727,AEROWORX,REALAIR..i know this is easy to solve by just a couple of keypresses.or altering the panel.cfg......just wondered really:) :) best wishes steve

bump...That's an interesting observation. I've noticed the same thing and never could figure it out. I know in the Flight1 aircarft and a few other, the viewpoint is "zoomed out" a little more than most VC views that I've seen.

>the default view has your nose pressed up against the>Glareshield.im pretty sure most pilots dont fly around with>there head resting on the windshield..Not with the MAAM-SIM birds they don't.. :( Default R4D/DC-3 VC view :http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/finalscr...s/r4dvcview.jpgDefault B-25 "Briefing Time" VC view :http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/finalscr...s/b25vcview.jpgHowever..... it rather depends on the VC zoom setting of the start-up flight that you use. F.i. the FS9 default start-up flight VC zoom is set at 100, i.e. chin at the glareshield coaming ( well, just about.. ) Best is to use your own fav start-up flight with a VC zoom setting of 75 and always go from there. If you're still not happy with the default VC view of a particular aircraft look for (VIEWS) Eyepoint= in the aircraft.cfg and change the first param (longitudinal axis)to something which suits you better. cheers,Jan

It's not the position, it's the field of view. The eyepoint is exactly where your head would be in the real airplane. You only get a narrow field of view on a computer monitor, though--much less than in real life. I've seen FS run on a domed display made by Elumens, which does give tou a huge field of view, and the standard eyepoint seems much more real.

I'm probably missing something but you can adjust your proximity from/toward the panel in the VC by pressing SHIFT and either + or -.Sorry if I've misunderstood your question.Regards,Jim

There's nothing wrong with the viewpoint. If you look straight down, you'll see that the viewpoint is where your head would be in the real aircraft. However, the standard 1x zoom of FS9 is not very realistic IMO. I prefer 0.75x which also moves the panel farther away.

Hiso its the field of view thats wrong.i couldn't work out why the default view was setup like that...its true that if you look down the view is correct..(never even thought to look):( .i always use the .75 view setting and find that more realistic.MAAM DC3 got it right in the default view.tho i dont have that one.. even if field of view is wrong, the default setting should be like MAAMDC3 on all aircraft. thanks steve
