February 16, 200521 yr Hey... I downloaded the ex-payware aircraft from simtech (Beech 18, Staggerwing, and others), as well as the Grumman Widgeon. Theyre all excellent except for one thing... they have a horrible flight model, resulting in the wings fighting to get back to level... usually going past level into opposite bank. Other than that, they are fine. Does anyone know what will take care of that? (I have basic knowledge of the air/cfg files) I'd appreciate any help. I'd really like to keep these planes but unless I can fix that fighting flight model, theyre going in the trash.
February 16, 200521 yr You might try experimenting a bit with "roll stability" in the "flight tuning" section of the aricraft config. Also (probably more effective in your case) there should somewhere in the "weight and balance" section be the item "empty_weight_roll_MOI" (momwent of inertia). If you raise the the number there, the stick force needed to start rolling becomes larger, AND... the force needed to "roll back" becomes larger. In other words: the aircraft won't try to go back all by itself so much. It's a bit of experimenting though, but I guess you will be able to adjust the stuff to your liking.Be well!Jaap Verduijn.
