February 25, 200521 yr Roto,Please forgive me if you already know the following but you will need to follow all the steps to diagnose the cause. I don't think it so much that the gauges are or are not default but that your copies of the gauge files are stored where the corresponding references in the panel.cfg file say they are. If they aren't, you will display just the panel bitmap without the gauges which sounds like what is happening to you. Each occurrence of a gauge to be displayed is referenced in a gauge statement in your panel's panel.cfg file. This reference statement provides the file name of the gauge file (with an optional directory path) and the x,y position and size of the gauge image for that particular occurrence. Note, if there is no explicit directory listed in the reference statement, FS9 automatically checks two places - its Gauges directory and the panel folder itself. If there is a directory shown in the reference (indicated by the presence of a "" character), then go to the indicated directory and verify that the associated gauge file is actually there. If not, that is your problem. If there is no directory listed in the gauge reference statement, check both the main Gauges directory and in the panel file. It should be in one of them. Again, if it is not, that is your problem. By the way, the default gauges are all stored in the main Gauges directory by the FS9 install process, so that's where you should find them - assuming by "default" you mean FS9 default. Hope this helps.Stan V.
February 25, 200521 yr The following aircraft have their "gauges" (xxx.CAB) inside their panel folders. If a third party panel uses one or more of the gauges inside the .CAB without directing specifically to that exact panel folder, the user will see no gauges. Could one of these aircraft's gauges be called for in your friends' panel? The easiest method is to copy and paste the "xxx.cab" that is inside the desired aircraft's panel folder to FS9's main Gauges folder. That will make them available to the third party panels. February 25, 200521 yr Ok, first off, the default gauges being used, belong to the King Air 350 (default) and the Cessna 172 (default). Those gauges should be present in the main FS9 (yea, sorry I meant to say it was FS9)
February 25, 200521 yr Author Would be helpful to know what 'Panel's' your referring to?Dave.'Three greens and soft landings' Dave Taylor
February 26, 200521 yr Author I would suggest uninstalling and re-installing again? It's obvious that the first laod didn't execute properly. The guages haven't reached the guage file. Failing that, 'explore' the software and install them manually.Hope that this works for you?All the best,Dave.'Three greens and soft landings' Dave Taylor
February 26, 200521 yr >>"The guages haven't reached the guage file."?!?!?What? You obviously don't understand the problem: these are gauges that Microsoft FS2004...ALREADY HAS. There's nothing needed to take from the aircraft's install, because they are DEFAULT GAUGES.So you see why I'm confused by this.

There's nothing needed to>take from the aircraft's install, because they are DEFAULT>GAUGES.>>So you see why I'm confused by this.Naturally assuming that the default guages ARE working in your other aircraft, then the fault is in the config file of the aircraft your having trouble with?Perhaps you could 'copy and paste' the .cfg here, so I can study it?In the meantime, perhaps you could delete the aircraft and reload it and seeing if that makes a difference? All the best,Dave.'Three greens and soft landings' Dave Taylor
