May 29, 201412 yr I downloaded the free trial of ASN and i have been very impressed with the wind effects on the aircraft while flying. One thing I have noticed is that when on the ground the clouds are not moving across the sky, is this normal? When I used the default weather I remember the clouds moving. I am using default textures. I tried selecting some windy weather and still have the same problem even though the windsock is fluttering like mad, is there something i need to change in the settings or FSX? kind regards Darran My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer
May 29, 201412 yr Commercial Member Hi Darran, thanks for trying ASN. The clouds move in fsx based on the winds at the matching aloft level. So, if the cloud base is at about 6000 feet agl, then the aloft layer at 6000 feet should be "windy" for the clouds to move, not the surface winds. In general ASN does not affect cloud movement and it is present. There is however an exception to this. We in purpose prevent cloud movement, for the weather close to the destination airport of your flight plan (if any). In all other cases, clouds move. Kostas Terzides
