February 25, 200521 yr Can anyone give me an idiots guide to using this utility, I only fly locally (South East England), and find the manual confusing for a newbie. I'd like to create my own Pilot voice for local flying with ATC.
February 25, 200521 yr Author Hi,If you are new to sound editing, then I think it's probably too difficult (it certainly is for me). You need to create named markers which takes a relatively sophisticated wav editor, and you need to create over 9,000 wav files to create the new sound pack - that will take days and days!!Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
February 26, 200521 yr Thanks for replying. What about if I just wanted to change local airports and my aircraft, is this possible ?
February 28, 200521 yr Author Hi,Yes, it's possible.1. Download the GVP Decompiler from AVSIM (it's for FS2002, but works with FS2004).2. Decompile the GVP file into all the wave files and XML file.3. Re-record the wav files you want to change, in the Pilot's folder you want to use.4. Recompile the GVP file using the MS ATC Voicepack SDK compiler.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
March 1, 200521 yr What about EditVoicepack? I find it very easy to use with a short learning curve and you can change or add quite a few things to your liking. Another plus - it is freeware.http://www.editvoicepack.com/
March 1, 200521 yr Author Hi,I agree that Editvoicepack is the best way to change the wording and phrases that ATC uses. I thought by "new pilot voice" he wanted to create a new pilot using his own voice (and accent). My method does that. If not, then he should download EVP, I agree.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
