The correct display of any Opus External Aircraft camera view depends entirely on the LC software being able to cycle and select the correct view mode (see Getting Started and Live Camera Guides).

The software has to cycle from the selectable VC view to the Opus Custom External view mode before then adjusting the zoom and eye point to give the desired aircraft view.

Up to now, this process has relied on the system being set up as per the default FSX and P3D configuration. That is with five selectable view modes. The number of available view modes can be determined simply by pressing the S key and counting the total number of view modes that can be cycled. The normal sequence in the simulator is,

VC - Outside Spot - Tower - Aircraft - Custom External

Giving the default total of five (5) different view modes.

The latest OpusFSX and OpusFSI Betas now include options to allow users to specify a different number of available view modes. This change has been included to accommodate systems where the Tower View (for instance) has deliberately been disabled, giving only four available view modes.

In the latest OpusFSX Beta (Version 3.49.2) the FSXSERVER program will now accept VM3, VM4, or VM6 arguments to set the available view modes to 3, 4, or 6 respectively.

In the latest OpusFSI Beta (Version 4.00.18) the Configure dialog includes an extra field to set the number of available view modes (default 5). This new Simulator View Modes field can be set to any value from 3 to 6. The default number is 5.

If you have experience problems displaying External Aircraft Live Camera views, normally resulting in either a misplaced aircraft, a missing aircraft, or a partial aircraft (VC mode does not normally define the entire aircraft, only the bits that can be seen from the cockpit), then check your view modes using the S key and adjust your system accordingly. Either restore the missing modes or let Live Camera know how many there are on your system.

Also remember if you have been using EZCA then all the EZCA configuration and camera definition MUST be removed using their supplied configure or restore tool.
