Automated Weather Observation - what's that??

Featured Replies

When I'm flying in the area of Morocco and I have tuned Casablanca Control 125.1 , Flight Simulator starts to announce me ATIS of the nearest airports ("Automated Weather Observation, GSML Ceiling 2300 Broken...... Automated Weather Observation, GSMN......"). It wouldn't be so big problem, but I can't communicate with ATC (there can't be 2 sides speaking at one moment). What is it? How can I get rid off it?

Probably a bug in FS - ie. they placed the AWOS recording and Casablanca control on the same frequency.

But when I tune 125.1 anywhere else, there is no problem....

Because everywhere else they are on two different frequencies. You got to ignore the weather reports and fly until switching to the next center.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

OK - but when I'm flying to Casablanca Intl. Airport ATC always cancels my IFR plan, because in this area they start vectoring me to runway, but I can't answer them :-(Is there any way how to fix this frequencies?

Not sure but maybe AFCAD will allow you to change the frequency of one of the two conflicts.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
