I'm using the Try-Before-Buy V6.34 of VoxATC.

 

Is it possible to request a gate of my choice at the destination airport like requesting an approach via the options-menu?

This is an email response from the developer to a similar question I had a couple of years ago.  I have not tested this with the latest version but it did work with the previous.

VoxATC assigns parking depending upon the size of the aircraft and if an
Airliner, on the airline code defined for the type of aircraft you are
flying as defined in the aircraft.cfg file.

You can set the atc parking codes in the [fltsim.x] section of the
aircraft.cfg file. the actual value to change is atc_parking-codes

Also change atc_parking_types to GATE if it's not already set that way.

A quick warning, before editing the aircraft.cfg file, ensure that you
make a backup copy of it.
