July 20, 201411 yr hi first, i want to thank you for this piece of software. The weather engine is outstanding and i dont have any problem with it.I have just a little problem with opusfsx external view(the cockpit is working pretty fine). My problem is to save aircraft views.here's what i do: -i click on add or clone a camera -i choose enable DHM -I click on aircraft ( rather that virtual) -i move the camera with the arrows -i click save camera -i finally export cameras now the problem that every time a start fsx, i loose the external views( i see only the default aircraft view -the camera behind the aircraft) Note: i used to use ezdock but i restored default cameras and i did a complete uninstall. what's going on, now i've spent 24h doing and this problem is getting me crazy. my last questions: why we can't use keyboard shortcuts when moving camera in edit mode? why only the keyboard shortcuts yaw left et yaw right are the only working in normal fsx spot view? can some one help me please
July 20, 201411 yr Commercial Member Best read the Live Camera manual. There are very good reasons why you cannot use keys to move the eye point and the main reasons are that the software is non invasive, does not require you to butcher the standard FSX settings, does not interfere with the normal FSX operation and as a result can save you 3 to 6 FPS. OpusFSX Live Camera is different, in the new OpusFSI you can even use LCC and a GamePad Controller (or assigned Shortcut keys/buttons) to adjust the eye point and edit your views. First, no need to export the camera views, this is only used to allow others or yourself to import sets of views, normally created for a specific aircraft type. Next, you didn't mention specifying the assigned aircraft type for the view. So the view may not be assigned to your selected aircraft. You also will need to assign a joystick button or key sequence with which to select the view onto the display. So best edit your external view again, name it, assign an aircraft or set of aircraft to it (or assign it to all aircraft if its a general view), assign a button and/or key stroke (some means to select the view on to the display). Then save cameras, exit and use the assigned button or key to select it. Note, not all key events are available. Stephen :-) Also check the manual or FAQs and make sure you have the correct view mode cycling so the software can actually select the correct view mode. This can only be done by cycling a known number of steps. Stephen
July 25, 201411 yr Author hi stephen i thought that my problems are gone, but unfortunately no.I have some trouble with aircraft view only on some aircraft for exemple the alabeo 172RG and some other aircrafts. The problem is when selecting (aircraft) in the step number 6 in the manual page 9, the camera stays in the virtual cockpit and when i select opusfsx aircraft view (right click in fsx) i can edit my view and assign a key to that view , but when i save cameras i return to my default virtual cockpit view. The problem begins when i hit the assigned button for this camera. All i can see is a missing virtual cockpit skeletron and i'm not longer in opusfsx aircraft view but in virtual cockpit. I read the manual several times, but i can't find a answer.can you help me please stephen. thanks in advance stephen.
July 25, 201411 yr Author hi stephen just a little update. The problem i have is not related to opusfsx, because i have an new fsx installation on another partition on my hard drive.I tested it and all aircrafts are working like a charms. i think that ezdok spoiled my aircrafts ( despite a made a restore before uninstalling it).Now now my question how to restore my cameras in their default values.Do i need to do a complete fsx reinstall ? Greetings from Canada.
July 25, 201411 yr Commercial Member No, there is an EZCA tool I think its called Restore, its in our FAQs. You must use this to restore all your aircraft.cfg files and remove all EZCA changes. Stephen
July 26, 201411 yr Author Hi stephen This time the problem is fixed definitely. The problem was the entry CycleHidden=Yes in my cameras.cfg. Now i'm enjoying the outstanding aircraft view with opusfsx. From now on, i can't imagine flying fsx without opusfsx. thx for you support.
