COURCHEVEL - LFLJ (sloping runways)

2 posts in this topic

I have just reaffirmed my interest in Courchevel Altiport (which I have known very well for real) as I have been upgrading my FS9 scenery for the alps - and because I found the scenery using TerraMesh 7 (or Pignot's mesh) and the Bernard Martin site. Like many (in these forums) I am dissapointed in the LFLJ sloping runway of the latter, which is at best bumpy but also the wrong texture (for real asphalt) The buildings are superb, but the airport is unrealistically low and sunk into the scenery (which is why the runway has problems.) There is during snow a build up to the wall behind. The snow textures are dreadful. There are enormous potholes in the terrain mesh on wide open blue runs I have often used! Does anybody know why?For FS2000 I purchased an excellent payware version of Courchevel with a working sloping runway that also works in FS2002. This lacks for building design compared to the new version. Unfortunately it does not work for FS2004, as the runway and apron textures are invisible or simply not there. The altitude is two high. The principles of how it worked were very simple. It simply created a terrain of its own with its mesh angled (sloped) and flattened for the slope. Additional polygons completed the snow walls. Then the scenery sat on the default terrain (like an island.) It really is genius and even has dynamic skiers and the Courchevel bus!I am told the scenery is now unavailable. I would be willing to share this file with anyone who wants to help me design a FS2004 compatible version, but also using the Bernard Martin versions excellent buildings (with suitable permissions.)Also anyone who knows how to design mesh - in other words create a customer mesh (in fact a simple wedge shaped mesh with a flat surface - would be an enormous contributor. Please contact me through this forum or via email via this forum site.JCFH

JFCH have you installed the scenery by Guy Nemoz ?http://www.vf-air.com/ALTIPORTS.htmIt is the "Altirelief" mesh scenery that makes it possible. His work together with Bernard Martin's http://perso.wanadoo.fr/bravomike/fs2004.html is what makes the sloped runways "landable".You also have to make sure that in FS9.CFG TERRAIN section you have TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=19Some more LFLJ real pictures ;-)http://fsfranceapp.free.fr/forum/viewtopic...der=asc&start=0Kyprianos Biris :-cool[link:hvacc.org]Hellenic vACChttp://vateur.org/staff/vateur_m.jpghttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/810309/3.png
