I am looking at Flight 1 Flight Environemnt, or the Ultimate Terrian.I have FS SKY World as far as clouds go, so which would be a better option? Does the Ultimate Terrain have good water textures?Thanks!Barry

Your comparing apples to oranges. FE gives you new clouds, water textures and skys. UT gives you actual roads, improved water data for shorelines, rivers and lakes and better night lighting and enhanced landclass in major metropolitan areas. I don't believe UT gives you any different water textures, it just makes the water much more accurate and detailed in placement. They are complimentary products, and do not do the same thing.FE can be used on any flight anywhere in the world, while the current UT package is just for Alaska and Canada, with the US to follow in a few weeks. It all depends on what you are looking for.Tony

I guess my next question is if I have FS Sky World, is there much improvement in the clouds? Esepcially on the FPS side of things? Are the cloud graphics optimized? What is the advantage of FE over FS Skyworld. And since Active Sky is releasing ASV with a whole new weather engine and environment, should one wait?Barry

Hi Barry,I have Active Sky, and am holding out till ASV is available. I like Chris's work with FS Sky World, and am looking forward to seeing how he will intrigrate his clouds into AVS.I don't have FSE, so I can't campare. It sounds like it is a neat program, and many folks seem to be very happy with it. The few that I have seen that have had some critisism have said it was not enough to take advantage of Flight1's money back guarantee. FSE gives you skys and water in addition to clouds, all intrigated into a nice graphics interface. FS Sky World is only clouds, though it is free. There has been alot of discussion here on the boards about FSE over the last few days. I am tempted to purchase FSE anyway, but so far have resisted.Tony

I have FE.It is good.I am not dissapointed. I use it in combination with the igfly walk and follow module and I am getting some really beautiful screenshots.

I bought Flight Environment expecting to look and ask for a refund. I figured with Chris's FSW and my machine, it would be cute but not great for those of us who fly high in our 767's and the like.Boy was I wrong. Today I am flying from Barbados to Gatwick and the clouds are stunning. The colors are right and the layers are as good as I have seen in real life. What a great product.Even for we jaded flyers, it is a product that is a must have if you want the real look and feel when flying.
