Dear SLX users,

There seems to be some confusion about the purpose and use of the profiles.

Profiles are used to configure the simulator before it has started. Once the simulator has started, selecting a different profile has no influence on the simulator at all when launching a flight. Selecting a different profile while the simulator is running, will however load flights and flight plans from the folders you specified in the newly selected profile.

When applying a profile, the configuration file, scenery.cfg file, dll.xml file etc. that you selected for the profile are copied over the originals (after making a backup). If the contents of a profile file are the same as the contents of the original, no copying takes place.

Every user has a different set of sceneries installed, uses different folder paths, has a different set of FTX regions installed (or none at all), does or does not have EZdok installed and has a different set of settings in the fsx/prepar3d.cfg file. Because of this, exchanging profiles between users will not work.

Hope this helps.
