Currently I can't connect to a P3D server whose IP address I get from FSopen. I am still using version 2.2. Is it necessary to have the same version as the server's?

Probably, it's not something I've tested as it's a free upgrade to 2.4, don't know why you haven't?

I did it and you know what, it worked!!! So it seems that in order to connect, it is necessary to have the same version as your server's.
