PFD after Alligning IRS

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've been learing the Cold and Dark start up with the PMDG 747-400.  I've got the procedure down fairly well now.  However, I've noticed that after letting the IRS allign (monitoring the IRS time counters to allign in real time to zero), then setting the selectors to NAV, the PFD artifical horizon colors don't display ( ie the ground and air colors don't show on the PFD.  I'm I doing somehting wrong that this is happening or is this a bug that needs to be worked out

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom S.

Switch the IRS mode selectors from OFF to NAV. You don't need to keep the selectors on ALIGN. The system will enter navigation mode after completing the alignment cycle provided the position is inserted in the POS INIT page in the FMS.

Thanks,  I will give that a go!

OK...I did this and the same problem persists.  PS...the Time to Allign Counters went to zero...then continued with negative values ( ie  -1, -2 -3 minuntes and so on). The Artificial Horizion is stll black.  By the way, I'm using a Qantas repaint. Is this perhaps the issue?

Problem Solved. I was selecting the Reference Airport coordinates and not the GPS coordinates. Once I selected the GPS cooridnates, everything was fine.

Thanks
