West Virginia Scenery - Attention: Richard Hill

Featured Replies

The scenery to which I make reference is wv-fs9_v01-05.zip, and the wv_2004-v1m.zip patch downloaded from AvSim. First let me thank Richard for the great work. I wish he could do the water scenery for the whole world. I am useing FSGenesis landscape and 38 mesh. I am also useing American data (streams only), and Ultimate Terrain, Canada and Alaska (Don't really know exactly how far this reaches into the USA). I am having one problem, and am foolish enough to think that I may have the solution at first look. I thought I would check to see if this is correct, or if I have torn my britches in some other way which has not shown up yet. With this scenery, (I labeled "West Virginia"), installed in my addon scenery folder, and enabled in the scenery library (FS9) I was getting dual roads between what I assume are modified defaults, and USA Roads. I tried moving the "West Virginia" folder first, last, and all around in the Scenery Library with no success. Dual roads remained. I also tried with all and each of the above addon's disabled and got the same results. The only way I was able to cure the problem was to disable the "West Virginia" scenery in the library, but of course then, the improved water ways were lost as well. I then discovered the following: I discovered that by removing all of the "VTP.bgl" files the defaults went away leaving only the USA Roads displayed. It appears that the rivers, lakes, and all other waters remain with Richard's dandy display and still look great. Am I correct in assuming that the "VTP.bgl" files were all roads, interstates etc. and that the "LWM.bgl's" are the water ways? Nothing else except roads appear to be affected and so far I see nothing undesirable. Again, thanks to Richard for the execellent contribution to FlightSim. If all rivers and water ways looked as accurate and good as he has done in WV, I think everybody would be pleased. Respectfully:RTHNote: This is an edited email try to Richard, but I was never able to get it to go through to the address he listed in the download.

RHODGES;Haven't been in the forum for a while. You are correct Rivers, Lakes are VTP BGL's. I am wondering what is the average size of the USA Roads. In my scenery the position points of the roads are on average every six meters. If USA Roads were anywhere near that close, I wouldn't think the files would be in the 6+GB range. Tes if USA Roads are installed and files listed are moved or renamed one would get multiple roads. My Email address is [email protected] no i in Hill! I never have any problems with anyone else sending email. Be sure to include subject matter, as if it has no subject matter it will probably be deleated with junk.Richard
