February 16, 201511 yr I have installed and have been tweaking v2.4. After changing the Affinity to allow 7 of my cores to P3D I am wondering if my GPU is limiting my performance. When I am sitting at the gate at KSFO (ORBX NCA scenery. Same thing when sitting at default KMIA) in the PMDG 777 cold and dark I am bouncing between 8-13 fps. Outside spot view shows in the 23-27 fps range. When I check the CPU's performance this is what I see: I would have expected the CPU's to be "working harder" to improve what I am seeing on my monitors. My system: i7-2600K OC'd to 4.2 GHz 16 GB RAM ATI Radeon R9-280 with 3 GB RAM - AMD OverDrive +12% & GPU Clock Setting to 1000MHz Dual Dell U2412M Monitors using Eyefinity for 3920x1200x32 resolution Any help would be appreciated. February 16, 201511 yr You should only be configuring P3D to use the the number of course the processor actually has. The i7-2600k only has FOUR cores, but you have hyper threading enabled with shows up as EIGHT logical cores. Hyper thread cores will make absolutely no difference with performance. Try setting this in the p3d.cfg file: [JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=84 Jaime Boyle
February 16, 201511 yr Author Jaime, Thanks for the reply. However your reply completely contradicts what I am reading in the following post: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/444793-one-tweak-to-rule-them-all-how-to-set-affinity-mask-correctly/ I set my AffinityMask using the forum post that I linked. February 16, 201511 yr My apologies, I thought this post was FSX related! Misread that it was for P3D. Jaime Boyle
