Saitek FIP support

Recommended Posts

I have a Saitek Flight Instrument Panel; the small display with some buttons and knobs that can be used to display gauges.

The current LINDA version will detect the FIP and allow handling of the buttons, but I would like to attempt to generate gauge images. I already had something working in C++, but even a first test to call that code from LINDA requires me to know a bit more about how the USB devices are identified and accessed in LINDA. Where can I find information about this?

Hi Bert

Thank you for your question. Support for programming the Saitek Flight Instrument Panel (FIP) buttons was provided by Artem and put in LINDA 2.5 and onwards.  Not owning the FIP myself I can not offer an immediate answer - this may change in the near future.

However, another users Cooly has provided a LUA solution for other Saitek Flight Pro panels - Multi-Panel and Radio Panel. You will find the code for these in common.lau and a new library saitek.lua in the latest LINDA 2.6.0 beta.  I suggest you look for similarities between this code and your c++ work. This may offer a solution.

If you get anything working I would be very interested to include your solution in the LINDA baseline.
