Aircrafts turnaround

Featured Replies

HiIs there any way of improving the bad turaround at FS aircraft. You cant turn the aircraft around in a runway even if it is 40 m without getting out in the grass. That is not realistic. Anyone who know a way of improving that without getting poor performance in the air.Thomas ESNN

hmmm... maybe it's that particular aircraft that has a problem? i turn the fs 172 exactly as in real life, same inputs, same performance... or maybe i didn't get your question :-(

Is it possible that you could be using too much throttle? The higher the speed the larger the turn. You could also try using your engines to help you turn in mutli engine aircraft, for a right turn advance only your left throttle while the right is at idle. Hope this helps!Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

Thomas,If you mean single-engine aircraft, like the Cessna 172, then you can apply the inner brake and increase throttle a bit to turn almost on the spot (I believe this does work in real life also?) I know this works in commercial jets but as stated, applying LEFT throttle to turn RIGHT is recommended for multi-engine aircraft, along with, I assume, the RIGHT brakes. In essence, if I understand correctly, you are "pivoting" the aircraft almost on the same spot without moving forward, which is the only option in tight areas.John

Good call John! I had meant to state this in my post too but in my haste to get to the golf course this morning I totally forgot to add this. Oh, and yes, the braking is the same on a C172 as the big planes in real life, you do use left at right brakes to help turn at times. Again thank you for jumping in here and adding that important bit of information!Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
