June 6, 200520 yr There seems to be a generally held belief around here that after the incomparable Aardvark Boeings, FSPainter are some the best AI aircraft around.I'm currently replacing those Project AI aircraft I have installed with FSPainter equivalents, where I can find them. In the main, the models concerned are all Airbuses from A300 through to A340.Certainly the FSP A330's and A340's look better than the PAI models to my eye. However, I know there is a link between some or all FSP and PAI planes, and some PAI models come in version 1 and version 2 etc.Does anyone know which FSP models are DEFINITELY better and which are exactly the same (or indeed worse than) their PAI counterparts?Because if some of these are the same, I'm wasting an aweful lot of flying time!
June 6, 200520 yr Hi,Off the top of my head I believe the PAI Fokker 50, Dash 8's, and CRJ's are FSPainter. Visually speaking, FSPainter win hands down. There are a few however that do suffer in the fsp department, specifically the 777 and A340. I had a link that compared them all by fps, but lost it, maybe someone can step in. Here's a link for all the latest FSPainter models: http://www.fsrepaints.de/Todd
June 6, 200520 yr I think the paintkits are what sets them apart because (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) the models are the same.I love detailed AI and FSPainter definately shines there. Aardvark is my Boeing fleet and everything else they have to offer but PAI models are needed because there are a few models not found anywhere else (B717, 707, etc) and some paints not found anywhere else
June 6, 200520 yr Author Looks a very useful site, one of the problems is finding the FSPainter repaints you want. There are several mainstream PAI models which are related to FSP models: in fact for some there is a cross index to rename the texture files to work with one model or the other. But the question is, which are the newer/better models.Like everyone, I could always do with a few more FPS, but I have a pretty good machine, so appearance is what I'm after.
