June 7, 200520 yr It is eating at me and I want to buy the Real Air Spitfire...I hope I do not get beat up for this... I know that the Real Air Spitfire has the military version, and the Civilian version my question is. Does the Civilian Version have a GPS in it? :-badteeth Thanks,
June 7, 200520 yr Neither version has a GPS on the dash. However, Shift-2 (I think that is correct) pulls up the default FS handheld GPS. Keep in mind that there is not even an auto-pilot, true to life.Tony
June 7, 200520 yr Whew... I forget the name of the other one... Think it is the SF .260Or something like that plane not have an autopilot either? Thanks Tony,
June 7, 200520 yr The SF260 also has the handheld GPS as well, and you can slave the auto pilot to it. If you use the payware Reality XP GPS, there is a panel mod that puts it on your panel in the SF260.Tony
June 7, 200520 yr Ohh No...That's funny I just got done doing a little reading on them Reality XP guages..Man I am getting out of control with this stuff... And this is just the beginning shhhiiiicccccccccckkkkkkkkkkk
June 7, 200520 yr If you want to "dip your toe" into warbirds prior to buying the Realair aircraft, try Robert Sandersons' Sea Hurricane, seahurri.zip in the library. I should say at this stage that I'm not unbiased - I textured & beta tested the Sea Hurri's. That said, the pair are of the same genre so the comparison is relevant; the Hurricane being a slower, relatively gentle introduction to warbirds. The flight models are equally challenging albeit in different ways. Both feature excellent VC's and more than enough systems and damage modelling to keep a keen simmer busy. If you like the Hurri, you'll love the Spitfire. The Realair model has a stunning VC, super smooth gauges, great looks, fabulous handling and is awesomely fast. If you've learned to fly the Hurricane properly you'll appreciate the advances introduced in the Spitfire. Many systems in the late-war model Spit are automated, as opposed to being manually operated in the early-war Hurricanes.I can't speak highly enough of RealAirs work. I bought the Spitfire and the Siai Marchetti, and love them.LonelyplanetXO
