Which Mesh is better?

Hi Daniel, the terrain mesh file of sebclod9.zip is indeed better than the terrain mesh files that are part of bcmesh9d and bcmesh9e. It is compiled from much more accurate source data (23-m resolution as opposed to 90-m resolution). However, bcmesh9d/9e/p2 contain other enhancements, like lakes, rivers, roads, glaciers, ski areas, etc., that are not included in sebclod9.zip.There is a compilation package of bcmesh9d/9e/p2 available at the FS Genesis website, which you can use instead. Here's the direct link: http://portal.fsgenesis.net/modules.php?op...wdownload&cid=5 File name is bcablakefixv2.zip. Please also see this thread: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=258615&page=2Cheers, Holger

Thanks Holger! How did you get the sat data on Western Australia (my state)?I want to make an Australian scenery package. I have figured out how to use terrabuilder, but I have a long way to go. How do I get started in getting my source material?Daniel

I used to use a lot of different mesh, in fact probably whatever AVSIM has plus some FS Genesis and a couple of other payware meshes. The problem I found was where those meshes either ended or where they overlapped (one mesh gave a cliff at a certain latitude about 200 feet high and several hundred miles long where it met the default). To cover the many gaps I had and to ensure uniformity I purchased FS Global 2005 SE mesh from Just Flight (if you didn't guess it's the one that covers the whole globe) - the SE version takes advantage of the FS9 upgrade. Some would say it is not as good as some of the meshes I was using before I swopped over but at least there are no "irregularities" as described above, the FPS hits are good and I like it. If you only fly in B.Columbia then fine. If you move outside B.C. then maybe you could try for the same author?I wonder what the definition of a "better mesh" is, I think it's a personal thing and it's well worth trying a few freeware meshes and making your own mind up.A great place to fly though. There are several postings in the Bush Flying Unlimited General Discussion Forum regarding mesh for that area and the surrounding areas which you might want to check out! British Columbia is pretty much the home of BFU!Andrew Brownhttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Is the BCmesh files by Holger better than than the sebclod9.zip ?The sebclod9 file is a newer one....is it better?Daniel
