My Cessna portable avionics panel...

Featured Replies

Hi All,I thought I would share a small project I have been working on for my MS FS 2004. This is a panel I built to emulate the Cessna 172 cockpit controls. The Com and Nav tuning is done with return to center toggles for whole and decimal digits along with a push button to make the standby the active. All avionics can be controlled from it as well as OBS1, OBS2, ADF,Altimeter, Gyro heading and gyro compass, all lights, fuel select, pitot heat, fuel pump, and starter. The panel face is about 8.5 X 8.5. It works great and with my CH yoke and rudder pedals, along with voice controlled ATC from vox ATC it is all quite immersive.Hope you like it.Thanks,Tomhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/119969.jpg

>Hope you like it.Like it? Tom, I love it. Very nice indeed. Please start building one for me ASAP. :) R-

Hi Guys,Thanks for the kind words. I used a hagstrom keyboard encoder board and hook it in-line with my regular keyboard to control all the switches. It is not too difficult to wire up, just a lot of wires. :-eekThanks again for the kind words,Tom
