DRAM Bottleneck?

Featured Replies

I think I've got a bottleneck with my memory.  I have a six screen 1920X1080@ set up (p3dv2.3) in windowed mode for a single view with a Titan Black Superclocked and a Titan black each driving 3 screens.  The motherboard is a Rampage IV black and the CPU is an I7 4930K.  I usually get 22-30 fps with addons (all of the ORBX ones) and usually fly the A2A C172.

Nominally I have 16 GB Gskill DDR3 8X2 at 1600 DRAM. (2X4 probably better?) part # F3-17000 CL9-4GBZH. When I run CPUID, this is what I get:

-DRAM Freq 1066.5 Mhz

-FSB: DRAM 1:16

-CAS latency 9.0 clocks

-RAS to CAS delay 11 clocks

-Cycle time tRAS 28 clocks

-Command Rate 2T

Also on CPUID:

-DDR3 mod size 4096 Mbytes

-Bandwithdth PC3-12800 (800 mhz)

-G. Skill SPD ex XMP1.3

-Timing on the DRAM Freq 1066.5 Mhz is 9-11-10-28-38

-1.650 volts

I have a computer tech who installed all these items, as I won't/can't do it myself.  Does the RAM need to be fixed, and if so, how.

Many, many thanks.

According to that, you have 4 x 4GB modules, not 2 x 8GB

Also they're running at 2133MHz, which is their rated speed (not 1600MHz)

Everything looks OK to me

Thanks!  Sorry about the miscue on 4X4.  Here are the Memory tab numbers:

General: Type DDR 3; Size 16GB; Channel # Quad

Timings: DRAM Frequency 1066.5 MHZ

              FSB: DRAM 1:16

              CAS# 9.0 Clocks

              RAS# to CAS # Delay 11 clocks

RAS # Precharge (tRP) 10 clocks

              Cycle time (tRAS) 28 clocks

Row Refresh Cycle time 120 clocks

              Command Rate 2T

You're good. Your RAM is fine, and it's set to it's rated speed and timings

Cleared for takeoff :) :p0502:
