hi there.. i need some general help not sure if im in the right forum but here goes..1st. when im down loading a new aircraft for FS2004 in my zipped file there are files:- tex, sound, pannel. but NO gauge files??? where and how do i get the gauge file from? or is it in there but under a different name?2nd when im flying on APP to ILS im lined up with run way ready to land. i dissengage AP and my plane seems to shoot off upwards????? why is this? am i doing something wrong?any help would be appriciated.warmest regards AL

I wonder how many people remember Al Haynes from United 232--what a hero he was. No relation, by chance? To answer your first question, some new aircraft use default gauges, and won't include any gauge files. Others store their gauges in .cab format, which can be confusing if you expect something with the gau extension. .CAB gauges can go in the gauges subfolder, or in the aircraft's panel folder. As far as your second question sometimes the flight director gets engaged when the AP gets disengaged--I've seen odd things happen when this takes place. I add this line:use_no_default_pitch=1to the autopilot section of all of my aircraft, and it seems to help this issue. Adding this line:use_no_default_bank=1will keep the wing leveller from automatically engaging when the AP is turned on.Regards,John

FS autopilot controls pitch using elevator trim, not the elevator itself, so when you disconnect with the elevator 'up' since takeoff... :-eek Pete Dowson's fsuipc module(registered)takes care of this by centering the elevator when any autopilot vertical mode is engaged. A joystick or other controller is the best 'fix' though - IF indeed you don't use one.Hope this helps too.and oh yes - I get 'misty' every time I remember Captain Al - wonderful humble man and a true hero.regards,MarkXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256
