Actually, must>have been some nervous pilots. :-)>>billg>Well the passengers had to be patient while I tried to nail the landings several times and they also had to put up with a few crashes for good measure :(http://members.lycos.co.uk/electronicplayg...0easydriver.jpg[/image]
June 24, 200520 yr Impressive! Here's a technical question about all of those crosswind landings: what keeps the landing gear from getting sheared off when they come down pointing in the wrong direction? Do they pivot?
June 25, 200520 yr I like it! Not as much as Flight Club the original. You got some SICK crosswind landings going on there. Great stuff! And awsome Daft Punk soundtrack! Do they pivot? Thanks for you great comments guys :)That is a good question actually, but I dont think I can answer it lol.Landing gears are incredibly strong, one gear can take the impact of an aircraft's full weight on touchdown. If you've ever seen that real video clip of a 747 landing at Kai Tak on one set of wheels, you too would see just how strong it is.What happens in that video is an amazing crosswind. When the pilot touches down, he does so on one set of wheels as the aircraft is pointing almost sideways, before the touches any other the other wheels, he uses rudder to turn the aircraft so that he is point down the centre line... impressive stuff!
