Rotating light at night at airports

Featured Replies

Is there a switch for the rotating light at airports at night that causes a stuttering every single time it passes by ...?It's really very unrealistic and the beam is way whay wai too bright!Or maybe the switch is right next to the switch that Microsoft keeps on forgetting - the one that will switch on the runway lights during the day if the visibility drops (and I'm not talking about 2mi vis)Just thought that someone will know?;-)

You're having other graphic issues, because the rotating beacon is not properly rendering when it appears as you've described it.

No other issues in FS2004 for me ...AA=2 AF=8 and locked at 25 with most sliders FULL, no problems accept night lighting effects the f/sec and the irritating rotating beacon that looks more like a lighthouse warning "ships" not to land than a beacon for "lost" aircraft.I've flown many hours myself and I've never seen such a bright rotating light at any airport that I've landed. I've seen cows and bush fires on runways; pick up trucks with their red lights to indicate the end of a runway but never a high bright lighthouse on a major or minor airport. But then again ... this is africawe use drums for internet!

Like I said already, your lighthouse-irritating-beacon is a symptom of a graphic issue with your system. There are two cases where I have seen beacons as you've described them, during the beta when there was a bug with them, and when the beacon graphic has not completely loaded yet. Why not try turning down some sliders, maybe your system is a bit overtaxed with the night lighting effects.
