USB HUB and Power Loss

Featured Replies

Good morning from the west coast,

I purchased an Aukey 7 port USB 3.0 hub model CB-H4. The new hub also has a plugin power supply on the side so it supposedly doesn't need to pull power from the moboard. But every time i would fire the computer up and around 5-15 minutes after being on the PC would restart with no BSOD. The event viewer listed Kernel-power as the error and I logged all my temps and there were no issues there. So I removed the USB hub which is the only change I made to the system and have been flying on VATSIM for 3 hours with no issues. I am mainly writing to ask if I should be worried about my power supply. The PSU is 4 years old and it is rated at 1000w. Thanks in advance for any help.

Ash,
