Will my fsx run better with dx10 with dx9 settings?

i currently love using dx9 and I got everything running smoothly. I tired the fixer and dx10 a month ago with shadows, vc shadows, light bloom all on. And the performance wasn't all that great. I had random crashes and the sceney was constantly flashing in and out of black.

If I run the fixer with just the standard dx9 settings I am using now with just lens flare on, no shadows, no light bloom will my experience be any better? Thanks
