GeForce FX5700LE question

Featured Replies

I posted this in the hardware forum but only got one response, so I'm trying it here.I Just got my son his first computer, it came with a GeForce FX5700LE card in it. I know thats not the greatest card but I got a good deal on the PC. Anyone figured out which driver works the best on this card for FS9. I put the newest Nvidia drivers in it but was not pleased with how it looked in FS9. Thanks in advanceB. Bjorkman

I'm using the 77.30 drivers that I downloaded from Guru3D.com. Image quality is fine. Frame rates no #### - but that is more likely to do with the 'experienced' Athlon processor than with the video drivers.Doug

First, the FX5700LE is not that bad of a card for an older one, unlike the older MX cards were.I have the same card as you and I am using the Nvidia 77.72's. My average frame rates are in the mid 20's with this card, and FS9 runs smoothly on my system (see specs below). The thing I like about these drivers is that the sim runs much smoother than with the 71.89's (which are pretty good for the most part) and the graphics are very crisp. I really notice the differnce using ad-on aircraft like the DF727 or F1S C441.But a caution about the 77.72's, some games are having problems running with them like Far Cry and Lego Star Wars. But I am happy with them for running FS9.Hope this helps!ScottATP/CFII/DA20 Type Rated - Instructor Pilot - USAFA (KAFF), Colorado Springs, CO & at KCOSAOPA #00956593, since 1987Background in Corporate, Airline, and General AviationB.S.
