July 11, 201510 yr I using Prepar3d v2.5 and Opus. but also I'm having trouble opus weather. During the boarding process comes simulation of wind data. But the wind data will disappear after aircraft take off. 0 Wings 0 knots. I use the PMDG 738 and 777 aircraft. How do I solve this problem?
July 11, 201510 yr Commercial Member You should use Recommended Practices then you will know what GRIB upper winds are being employed. There are numerous Opus on screen reports, weather maps, weather reports etc. showing you what winds to expect. Make sure you are checking this data and comparing with the ambient winds displayed in the shift-Z banner (not on you MFD which may not register any low strength ambient winds at all. So use all the reports and LWA Map data to determine what upper winds and temps to expect. Also monitor the wind and temp targets (enable OpusFSI DWC with fsuipc4 installed). Monitor by comparing the reported targets with the shift-Z banner ambient wind. When using Recommended Practices you will be in no doubt what target winds and temps you should be seeing. Remember the MFD may NOT register light ambient winds so use the above methods. You will also know for certain that you actually have GRIB data in use as the reports will indicate or make it obvious when there's anything wrong. So read and follow Reccomended Practices for the LWE. If you are referring to the FMC winds then see the LWE manual. Stephen :-) http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/opusfsi_live_weather.htm#Recommended%20Settings%20and%20Practice Make sure you check and use the various OpusFSI on screen reports, text reports, and LWA weather maps. Use the on screen reports in conjunction with the shift-Z banner to monitor your systems target and current ambient conditions. Just remember the MFD will not show any ambient wind at all if its strength is lower than some pre determined limit (e.g. If less than 5 knots etc..). Stephen :-)
