Kmixer????

Featured Replies

I will explain my situation as best I can, its been a problem for 4 months or so. DFI AD70sc moboAMD Athlon XP 22001GB pc2100 Micron Nvidia 5600 Windows XP Pro SP2 Every once in awhile I get a bsod saying Kmixer is the problem address b7fc8eff base b7fba000 datestamp 41107d32. This happens only when I run games. It happens everytime I run Flight Simulator 2004, every once in awhile with Battlefield 2, and never with FIA GTR. It is very odd. My computer can run for days at a time but when I start FS 2004, load a plane, sit for maybe 30 seconds or so, it crashes. So far I have: Uninstalled/Reinstalled Directx, all my games, various audio codecs, IE. Updated my audio and video drivers, flashed my bios. Ran a burn in test on my hardware, ran virus/spyware software. Deleted all the files in my various temp folders. Replaced the Kmixer.sys file with the one on my CD. Purchased a new sound card.Pulled all my hair out. None of this has worked, I sure hope someone has a few ideas that could help. Do you think that it is a hardware or software issue, cause I have no idea. I have done everything I know of, I would rather not reinstall Windows as I don't even know if this will help, I just wish I had an idea what caused this and how to fix it. Any help is appreciated.

Check out this thread and do a google on kmixer. You are not alone and I suspect you will find a solution by drilling down into the threads.Good luck.Jimhttp://forums.winxpcentral.com/showthread.php?t=7505
