Tutorial #2 clairification

Recommended Posts

Tutorial#2 - page 90

The second "sanity" check. IVLUT and the 106 radial...

"IVLUT should lie along the PAM R-106."

I thought we programmed to the Schiphol VOR in NAV 1's active field (page 69), and set the course for NAV 1 to 106 (page 72).

Shouldn't that line read "IVLUT should lie along the SPL-106."

Disclaimer - I skipped these "sanity" checks as I was sitting at the computer doing this tutorial, as it was just confusing me at the time. I came back to it later (just now) to re-read it and am trying to make sense of it in my head, but it seems incorrect.... The graphic shows the PAM VOR right there, and the 225 radial coming out of it... theres no second radial for 106... but there is a line coming from off the screen (presumably from SPL).

Am I correct, or do I need correted?

Older version of the tutorial perhaps? Mine reads (page 92):

"As we approach IVLUT we have our last check of the RNAV procedure

using the ground based navaids. IVLUT should lie along the SPL R-106.
We can easily see that this is the case on the ND – the green line goes
dead through the center of IVLUT’s star icon."

Could be older version, not sure if I printed the one that came with it or just found it on the internet. Just wanted to make sure I still had my "sanity"..
