.75 for most aircraft, sometimes .50 only to get a better view of all the gauges and the surroundings. I try to zoom in a little for landings because even with my great system the VC panels get a little blurry farther away.

I can remember almost everything about my first $25 intro ride at Ft Lauderdale Intl in 1977 at Ft Lauderdale Aviation. The young female flight instructor walked me from the FBO to the plane as she was casually drinking a cup of coffee and once we got there was she described the preflight procedure as she did it. I could not for he life of me, figure out how she was staying so relaxed , as we were about to defy death in this new C-152 that I was getting ready to climb into. I actually got to fly the plane , and realized that even flying level was not as easy as you would think, but I started to get the hang of it. I still wasn't convinced that she was going to be able to get this thing back on the ground in one piece....... About 45 minutes later as we walked back to the FBO, I was "Hooked" big time ..... Thousands of dollars which I really couldn't afford, much study, alot of sweat later, and I had my PPL.. :)........ When I fly FS9 today with my Aeroworx B200 or Carenado C182-RG, I am right back in the cockpit again , with all of that same excitment that I had on that first flight........

Actually I use shift Z all the time, since I don't like reading 10th size instruments. L.Adamson

Definitely an experience worth sharing. Thanks for that.I love giving "discovery flights." To me, they remind me of my first flight, and you can tell that you are changing someone's perception. With my "everyday" students who are always working their butts off, I try to ask them after every flight, in addition to their evaluation, if they had fun. I think that's just as important as learning something, and it helps them to think about why they are working so hard - because flying is so much fun!

Thank you all for replying. You have all made my first flight encounter all the more enjoyable. I was a bit hesitant to post about it at first. You're a GREAT crowd! You give me a feeling of belonging. It would be great to have you all over for coffee/tea/drink. Thanks again.
