My keyboard assignments keep getting erased

Featured Replies

I've had my FS9 on the same machine for 2 years, same folder etc, and recently I noticed that my keyboard assigments were missing (some of them). I had to reassign some of the basic key commands like Shift-P to move back Shift-e to open doors etc, only to discover that the same thing happenned the next time I reloaded FS. Is there a corrupted file somewhere? Thanks for helping me out.PS By the way the only new thing I added to my sim was the PMDG 747.

Your keyboard assignments are in your fs9.cfg file. I tend to lose keyboard assignments when FS doesn't close properly, corrupting my .cfg file. I'd suggest backing up your fs9.cfg file.

Ahh, thanks Wildfire! That would explain it. The PMDG 747 has a bug in it that is being addressed where there is an error upon exiting the flightsim (whether you were flying the 747 or not) related to the module PMDGOptions.dll file. I guess the improper exiting of the simulator has led to the corrupted fs9.cfg file then.
