August 16, 200520 yr I am using flight simulator 2004 and I am taking a flight from NY to FLA and I am using the realworld weather update, however from time to time when I am flying the clouds just seem to "white-out", like I am running through a fog. I know here on the east coast today its pretty cloudy but since I am flying 12,000 feet I would be above most of the clouds and this "fogging" effect should not be like this. Is this a glitch in the FS2004 program or something else?thanks for any helpPaul
August 17, 200520 yr Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!Can't help much but I bumped this back to the top. I heard there was a fix for autoweather fog due to vis reports in other countries, but it didn't mention the U.S. I sent you an e-mail thru Avsim on another subject, my real name is Donald Traill.Best Regards, Donny:-wave
August 17, 200520 yr Author thanks for the bumpage Donny and I will check my email about your other topic but I am starting to think the drivers for my 6600gt may be doing this cause I have been reading on other sites alot of people are having issues with other games and this current driver set.thanksPaul
August 17, 200520 yr It's probably nothing to do with your video card. From time to time FS real weather will report visibilities of 10 miles or less. The problem is that any visibility of 10 miles or less is considered "fog" and the sky is painted that dull gray. Anything over 10 is "haze" and normal sky color is shown. This may have something to do with that fact that all US METARs show a maximum value of 10 miles vis no matter how much higher it may be. I beleive there is an FSUIPC option to increase the visibility generated in this case.Joe
August 17, 200520 yr If that's what the problem is, than that particular fix in included with many other features in FSManager 2.8. It's an 8 MB download. FSUIPC is not required to run the manager, but it is compatible with that and FSautostart.Best Regards, Donny:-wave
