DX 10 Preview FSX Windows 10

Featured Replies

I did a fresh install of FSX on Windows 10.  I installed SP1 and SP2.  I am using a AMD Radion HD 8610G Graphics card.  I have to enable DX 10 Preview in the FSX settings otherwise I just get black screens when I try to modify the display as well as other settings.  The DX 10 Preview will display the display settings dialogs correctly, but it is causing some flutters and strange flashes of colored triangles.

Is there any alternative such as installing  DX 9.0c?  Anybody else have issues with AMD graphics cards and the black screens as I don't think enabling DX 10 Preview is stable?

Thanks!

After upgrading to Windows 10, I found that if you start FSX in windowed mode and then switch to full screen (Alt-Enter) after your flight loads, everything works fine in DX 9.

Just remember to switch back to windowed mode before you end your flight.  Kind of a nuisance, I know, but I've had no problems since I started using this technique.

I'm using an Nvidia card, but I think this will still work with AMD cards.

Hope this helps!
