Latest OpusFSI Betas seem a bit complicated to install.

Featured Replies

Hi Opus.

Just reading the P3DV3 install instructions for the latest betas.

Is this just a temporary workaround method?

Are we going to see the usual .msi "does it all" in the future?

Thanks,

gb.

Possibly. There is no beta now, its a release version.

I assume you are referring to the OpusPDK Interface which only needs to be set up once for your sim. It is optional but recommended at the moment. The OpusPDK Interface will rarely, if ever, change and if it does it will only involve updating (copying) the new updated OpusPDK_V2.DLL or OpusPDK_V2.DLL library files into your Modules folder. Its really a very simple process and will most likely remain a manual process for now.

Ok, thanks Stephen.

What about the requirement that "The Prepar3D installation folders must be named either 'Prepar3D v2' or 'Prepar3D v3"?

There must be plenty of users like me using different folder names for both V2 and V3.

If we have to change them we will be at the mercy of some flaky registry fix program.  :).

That's only if you are using P3D version 2. The software assumes version 3 if it cannot decipher the folder names which are the standard install names.

I assume v2 will eventually die out.
