August 23, 200520 yr Hi,I'm new to flight simming and I have a question regarding adding aircraft to MSFS. I have FS2002 and wanted to use it with a 747-200. I found a 747-200 download which is based on the open skies 747-200. I unzipped the download into my fs2002 airplanes folder. When I ran MSFS, the new airplane appeared in my airplanes menu, and when selected it showed that airplane in the view. So far so good, but when I went to fly the airplane, the panel was the 747-400 glass panel. What I was hoping for was a 747-200 panel with steam gauges.Does this airplane I downloaded use the -400 panel, or does it have a -200 panel and I'm doing something wrong? Is it possible to get a 747-200 panel in FS2002, if so how do I go about this? I know these are probably pretty basic questions, but I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks
August 23, 200520 yr Many developed a/c are just that, the a/c only with a link to a generic panel. I would suggest searching the library for a 2002 panel of your liking and then add that to your a/c.
August 23, 200520 yr Hi, very often panel and aircraft are made by different designers and are offered as separate downloads. The panel of the 747-400 is used in your case because most likely there wasn
August 24, 200520 yr OK, thanks very much for steering me in the direction of the -200 panel. I downloaded the one by Tomasoni. Unfortunatly I'm having difficulty getting it installed correctly. This is my first time installing a panel Can you (or anyone) get me back on track? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
August 24, 200520 yr When you install the panel, be certain that you have put all of the files into the proper folders ( panel bitmaps and the panel.cfg file into the panel folder, gauge files into the fs2002gauges folder, that sort of thing). I'm guessing that you have an extra layer somewhere; make sure that you haven't ended up with something like this sort of path:FS2002Aircraft747-200PanelPanelbitmap and Panel.cfg files. You can see in the above that the panel folder is repeated within the panel folder of the aircraft, that is incorrect and is the error you might check for.Hope that helps, let us know how you make out.Ed GreenKCLThttp://www.panelshop.com/DEV.jpg
August 24, 200520 yr Hi,Ed already answered, but maybe I can elaborate on it with specific info. If you extract the file by R. Tomasoni, you get a folder 747-238 panel. In it you
