assigining views to yoke buttons

Featured Replies

Hello,

How can I assign the Aircraft:right wing aft view to a button on my yoke?

From an older post:

You can set this with an aircraft.cfg edit! Add "HotKeySelect=n" to the CameraDefinition section of the aircraft.cfg corresponding to the desired view. N should be numbers 4-9. Then set the appropriate hotkey to the view in FSX view settings.

The implicit "set the appropriate hotkey to the view in FSX view setting" threw me for a loop for a few hours. I came across one post somewhere that cleared it up for me, but for the life of me I can't find it. Maybe someone can clarify that part, but it involves going into your FSX settings and assigning the hotkey to your yoke. I ended up assigning the hotkey to a letter on my keyboard, and then assigning the letter to my yoke button in FSUIPC.

Made a world of difference assigning the VC first officer, captain, upper panel, lower panels to yoke buttons, while having a hat button for panning, plus two more buttons for zooming, and one for re-snapping to center view. Who needs IR cameras and ez docs right? (I do-- someday, but this is good enough for now)
