Prepare3d 'Not found' by Migration Tool and Addon gauges not working.

Featured Replies

I'm not really sure where to start with this one. I bought a brand new Acer Aspire V Nitro, i7 processor, Nvidia 960m, 12gb Ram and windows 8.1 and I'm having problems.

I also have a desktop PC and I have p3dv3  working with all of my addons and I'm fairly certain I have installed it in the same way on the laptop.

When I recieved the laptop I replaced the 60gb ssd with a Transcend 256gb ssd and did a clean install of Windows 8.1 onto the 2TB hard drive (It was originally on the 60gb ssd).

I have turned user account control off, I always did this for FSX so I do it for p3d. I am the administrator and run the programs in administrator mode.

I have installed Prepar3d v3 onto my SSD under 'Lockheed Martin\prepar3d v3'. I open the program and p3d loads and I am able to fly around in the default f-22 no problems, 55-60fps no stutters. Great.

I then install the Captain Sim l-1011, the product loads in p3d, but the gauges don't move, nor do the control surfaces. the aircraft doesnt have any gear either. I removed and then reinstalled p3d ( done 3 times now). I tried the Aerosoft a320 and the same issue occurs. The other thing is when I install the Estonia Migration Tool, when I run the program it looks for prepared and says that p3d was not found. All of this works on my PC so I'm a little confused, the only difference is that I use Windows 7 on the PC.

I have also tried installing p3d on my 2TB hard drive and that also has the OS on but I have the same problems. I did this because i thought it may have been the SSD acting up but it seems that this isn't the problem.

I haven't used Windows 8 before so could I be doing something wrong during installation?

Very frustrating, any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated!
